Executives looking to boost their own profiles have for years paid freelancers to ghostwrite their LinkedIn posts. Now big PR firms are getting into the game, and LinkedIn profile management is going mainstream. Business Insider spoke to 14 PR firms that said more companies are asking for LinkedIn writing and strategy services for their leaders. Zappa said he does not offer specific rates for LinkedIn posts and instead includes LinkedIn in broader content contracts. However, he estimated that PR firms solely focused on LinkedIn ghostwriting could charge companies $5,000 a month for three to five LinkedIn posts.

Voyager 1’s flight data system collects information from the spacecraft’s science instruments and bundles it with engineering data that reflects its current health status. But since November, Voyager 1’s flight data system had been stuck in a loop. By investigating the readout, the team determined the cause of the issue: 3% of the flight data system’s memory is corrupted. Members of the Voyager flight team celebrate after receiving the first coherent data from Voyager 1 in five months at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory on April 20. And younger engineers are coming onto the Voyager team and contributing their knowledge to keep the mission going.”

Drones recently supplied to Sudan by Iran are already making an impact in that country's brutal civil war. Similar types of drones played decisive roles in turning the tables in two previous African civil wars in recent years and could do so again. "It should come as no surprise that these drones are being used in wars around the world," Rogers told BI. In this context, drones are useful to achieve specific objectives, but they will not win the war alone," Rogers said. RANE's Dodd also credited Ethiopia's drone procurements for decisively "turning the tide" of the Tigray War.

A new signal recently received from the spacecraft suggests that the NASA mission team may be making progress in its quest to understand what Voyager 1 is experiencing. Voyager 1’s flight data system collects information from the spacecraft’s science instruments and bundles it with engineering data that reflects the current health status of Voyager 1. But since November, Voyager 1’s flight data system has been stuck in a loop. On March 3, the team noticed that activity from one part of the flight data system stood out from the rest of the garbled data. The decoded signal included a readout of the entire flight data system’s memory, according to an update NASA shared.

Nondisclosure Agreements Get Trickier Under New SEC Scrutiny

Provisions that impede an individual from communicating with the SEC are unlawful under the Dodd-Frank Act. Photo: Spencer Platt/Getty ImagesCompanies have long used employee nondisclosure agreements to protect proprietary information. Now, regulators are trying to ensure that clauses in those agreements don’t also serve to inhibit whistleblowers from reporting potential corporate wrongdoing. In recent months, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has taken a number of actions against companies whose various employment contracts have language that might hold employees back from reporting misconduct to regulators. A watershed moment came in September, when the SEC fined hedge fund D.E.

Type-Be stars, nicknamed "vampire" stars, are believed to strip the mass of a nearby star. Type-Be stars, characterized by their large size and surrounding rings of gas, are a subset of type-B stars , which are very hot, bright, and blue. The nickname "vampire stars" comes from the most accepted theory of how type-Be stars form rings, researchers said in the study — by sucking the metaphorical neck of an intergalactic victim. AdvertisementThe team observed the type-Be stars by comparing the positions of various stars over longer and shorter periods. However, the team was surprised to learn that they were detecting a higher rate of binary systems for type-B stars than for type-Be stars.

The week’s best and worst from Kim Strassel, Allysia Finley and Dan Henninger. The Supreme Court on Wednesday will hear the first of two landmark cases this term challenging the runaway administrative state. At stake in SEC v. Jarkesy is a bedrock constitutional principle that colonists fought to defend in the American revolution: the right to a trial by jury. The 2010 Dodd-Frank Act granted the Securities and Exchange Commission unbridled power to seek penalties administratively against any individual for violating securities laws. Democrats wanted to make it easier for the agency to punish misconduct.

The seal of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is seen at their headquarters in Washington, D.C., U.S., May 12, 2021. The SEC move is mandated by the Dodd Frank law, aimed at eradicating behavior seen in the 2008 global financial crisis. The rule is among the last to be adopted under 2010's Dodd Frank Wall Street reform legislation and faced a winding road to completion. Parties covered by the rule include underwriters, placement agents and sponsors for asset-backed securities. The SEC says it will require compliance with the rule for asset-backed securities with closing dates falling 18 months after the rule appears in the Federal Register.

ICAO's third Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels (CAAF) runs this week ahead of the COP28 U.N. climate summit in Dubai, which starts on Nov. 30. CAAF delegates from more than 100 countries are debating ways to boost supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) made from materials like used cooking oil. SAF is key to lowering emissions from aviation, but remains costly and in short supply. Making access to financing more readily available to developing countries, another conference goal, is needed to bolster SAF production outside of the United States and Europe.

U.S. oversight of Big Tech financial services is fragmented. The CFPB rule would toughen up supervision, requiring Big Tech to comply with its rules on privacy protections, executives' conduct and unfair and deceptive practices. Without regulatory scrutiny, they could leverage their growing dominance of consumer payments to capture other services like lending and card issuing, analysts said. 'LEG UP'Representatives for Big Tech have accused the CFPB of trying to protect traditional lenders. While Big Tech companies have deep pockets and plenty of resources to handle the new scrutiny, the rule could limit how they use and protect consumer data.

Since arriving in Medford, Mr. Cookis said they have taken their 2-year-old son, Beckett, and 1-year-old daughter, Luna, to the township’s apple festival, cranberry festival and Amish market. “I’ve lived down South for 10 years, and I’ve never had more nature,” said Mr. Cookis, 28. Nine years ago, while employed at TD Bank, Mr. Dodd grew weary of the frequent trips he had to make from their home in Maine to Cherry Hill, N.J. So the couple and their four children moved closer to the bank’s South Jersey headquarters. Coming from Maine, they were surprised at Medford’s similarly woodsy, rural feel.

We are actually going to be looking at this in the very early days of generative AI. casey newtonYeah, this feels like one of the big questions in AI right now. rebecca tushnetSo I see why you say that’s strange, but in fact, it’s exactly how you would make a general-purpose tool. The scheduled Fed board meeting will mark the first time in over a decade that the central bank has proposed revising the fees, which generated around $24.31 billion for lenders in 2019, the most recent Fed data shows. The Fed has not said how it plans to change the fees, which have long been criticized by retailers as disproportionately high, and a spokesman for the central bank declined to comment. The Wall Street Journal reported last week that the Fed will lower the caps, sending shares in credit card companies Visa V.N and Mastercard MA.N lower. In 2011 the central bank capped them at 21 cents per transaction, plus 0.05% of the transaction cost. Analysts said that it is likely the Fed could face a legal challenge from either industry if it pursues new caps.

The Personal Financial Data Rights rule would ensure consumers' legal right to their checking and prepaid account, credit card and digital wallet history and require fee-free data sharing among financial institutions, according to a release. It also includes restrictions on the monetization of sensitive consumer data by banks and tech companies and permits customers to revoke access to their data. "When it comes to our financial lives, a handful of very large banks and financial firms control much of the market," CFPB Director Rohit Chopra told reporters Thursday. If adopted, the rule would reactivate a statute of the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act tasking the CFPB with ensuring fair competition for consumer financial products. Biden "encouraged the CFPB to consider issuing rules to make it easier for consumers to take their financial data to a new financial services provider," Brainard told reporters Thursday.
